MCP / BASECAMP · RECORDED RELEASE → AVAILABILITY ANNOUNCEMENT

March → October. MCP access, from planning to everyday AI clients.

Orgonaut’s remote MCP is recorded from 17 Mar 2026. In October 2026, DHH announced direct Basecamp MCP availability for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Grok, and other clients. Another established SaaS product opening its tools to the assistants people already use.

The announcement is evidenced by a screenshot supplied during this review. Its relative timestamp supports no exact calendar day, so we show month precision. Basecamp’s local CLI MCP release on 3 September remains a separate timeline milestone.

An earlier record for a selected feature is evidence of adoption, not a claim to have invented the technology or led every SaaS company. Read the comparison method ↓

    Basecamp announces direct MCP availability

DHH announces that Basecamp MCP is available to add directly to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Grok, and other clients, linking to Basecamp’s AI setup page.

The founder supplied a screenshot of DHH’s announcement from this week during the October 2026 review. It shows a relative 2h timestamp; the exact calendar day and original post permalink are not established. Month precision is used, with no exact-day lead. This is separate from September’s CLI MCP release.

a product architecture.

The meaningful innovation is how these capabilities work together: agents can inspect the organisation, prepare supported changes, and give people something concrete to review.

What counts as a date?

Orgonaut release dates come from its public changelog, supplemented by dated posts and repository records. The changelog launched on 1 April 2026 and includes earlier historical entries. Competitor dates come from official announcements, release records, or package timestamps. A record is labelled as a release, beta, announcement, or documentation milestone; those stages are not interchangeable.

How are the intervals calculated?

Exact dates use elapsed calendar days in UTC. A month-only announcement gets a month label and no exact-day advantage. These are intervals between the cited records, not proof of a competitor’s first implementation or private development date. Similar access patterns do not mean identical products or capabilities.

What did the research rule out?

Intercom’s CLI package was published on 24 March 2026, before Orgonaut’s recorded CLI v1 release on 26 March. Fin’s April announcement came later. Basecamp’s official CLI release and Linear’s remote MCP announcement also precede Orgonaut’s corresponding recorded releases. The page therefore makes narrower, named comparisons.

Where is the ChatGPT plugin milestone?

ChatGPT connectivity is supported through Orgonaut’s remote MCP surface. The connected Orgonaut plugin also provides onboarding and review workflows, but its first release date has not been established in the available historical sources. It is excluded from dated comparisons until a release record is available.

Does this claim an industry first?

No. This is a selected chronology of shipped capabilities and public evidence. It does not establish invention, an exhaustive ranking, or that another company followed Orgonaut. Protocol introduction dates mark ecosystem context; they do not measure when a technology became popular.
